We trust that you are well and being kept safe by the power of God.

Thank you for your support and prayers for the Homeless Children and Orphans in their time of great need in Ukraine, and the finishing of the work on the House of Hope, before the war with Russia breaks out.

nearly finishedSome people who have said, “What a terrible time for the children in the House of Hope to be so close to the goal of finishing the new big building, only to have the terrors of war bursting around them.”

shoppingWe and our leaders at the House of Hope are saying, “None of this imminent warfare has caught God by surprise. He knew it was coming and urged us (through your support and encouragement) to press on and finish the work. We are sensing we are right in God’s will to be a refuge and a place of healing and comfort for many children and people who will be desperately hurt by this war.” Here they are shopping for emergency bulk supplies before the war causes an increase in prices.

None of the huge effort over the last two year has been in vain. Nothing has been wasted. The Scripture our teams are standing on is 1 Corinthians 15:58
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

The children at the House of Hope, with their meagre Bible knowledge, are viewing themselves much like the Old Testament Queen Esther – being in the right place at the right time to rescue and provide refuge for children who could be orphaned and made homeless as a result of the war in Eastern Ukraine. What a mature attitude for youngsters who are very new to the Faith.

ministry to all agesWe’ve been telling the leaders and the teenagers continually – “Don’t fear the war – you didn’t fear the war in Eastern Ukraine in 2014 – school supplies & bible2016 when you lived in the ghettos, without Christ. You are God’s children now and working for Him. God is in charge of all things, so keep your focus on the Mercy Missions – reaching the lost and showing mercy to the orphans, the poor and elderly, as you have been doing for the past 2 years.” They are responding well to this challenge and call.

Over January and into February over two weeks (they had a week of rest because a bout of flu laid them low for a while) our local Rescue Teams have reached some 206 poor families in the Odessa Province providing Survival Packs of food, medicines, hygiene products and Bibles to single mothers, children, and elderly people in many villages of the Odessa Province. They reached and helped 572 needy people and children.

a family helped! So that is the tense situation at present, but for us and our local teams in the Odessa Province, it’s Rescue Missions as usual. Our teams are a young mother and childkeeping their focus on their Mission, although they are praying and interceding for the safety of Ukraine. More and more country people are coming to Jesus when offered food and medication parcels, as well as Bibles, and “House Churches” are springing up in the villages as the poor folk get together to share food and read from their Bibles to each other – simple but very effective.

We do appreciate your wonderful friendship and partnership in the gospel. Thank you for your generous support and encouragement.

Love and blessings,
