The seed of Smethurst Ministries was planted in 1972 when God called David Smethurst and his wife Margurita into ministry. This calling has taken them into churches, schools, youth groups, colleges, convents, military bases, prisons etc across the world including Africa, Australia, USA, Britain, Ireland, Latvia and other ex Soviet countries, Norway, Yugoslavia, Singapore, Malaysia, Iceland…

Smethurst Ministries (an interdenominational ministry) has a multipurpose in equipping Christians to be more vibrant witnesses for Christ – “Equipped to Go….into the Harvest”. We also minister into areas of need with seminars such as: “Healing the Home” (building bridges to effect healing in the family and also to bring unbelieving relatives to Jesus).

2 Corinthians 5:14-20 informs every Christian that they have a ministry. God has given us a ministry of reconciliation (verse 18) and He’s committed to us (verse 19) the word of reconciliation. Verse 20 says, we are ambassadors for Christ. We are here in His place representing Him before needy man, urging and begging him to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.

If you’ve ever prayed, “God, I’m serious about serving You, please use me in your service” God has taken you seriously and that prayer should be followed by action. God has given us our marching orders; in Mark 16:15 Jesus instructed us, “Go into all the world (all your world) and preach the gospel to every person”. Note that this is a command from the Lord Jesus, it is not optional. The challenge is to rouse ourselves from the attitude that winning people to Christ is a week-end hobby in which we might or might not participate. Endeavouring to bring people to Christ is a matter of life and death – eternal life and death. We’ve got to take it seriously. If God took the salvation of the lost so seriously that He gave heaven’s best how dare we take it lightly and give less than our best in winning people to Jesus.

Jesus said in Matthew 10:32, “If you confess me before men I will confess you before My Father in heaven”. One of the highest forms of gratitude we can show the Lord Jesus is to confess to others how extremely kind and generous He has been to us in dying and rising again to save us.

Jesus wants us all to be His witnesses,

In much demand is the series on Prophetic Evangelism – how to use the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in winning the people to Christ, such as gifts of prophecy, words of knowledge, words of wisdom, gifts of healings and the working of miracles to the unchurched. The world we live in is full of cynics and skeptics who are tired of just hearing words and more words. They want to see the power of God in action that we say we have in us, from the Holy Spirit. It’s time we delivered that power to them. It’s amazing how willing the Holy Spirit is to minister His gifts to needy non-bel
