The area where the House of Hope is located, is taking a real pounding from Russian missiles day after day.

In past years, before the war against Ukraine started, I had access to visit Ukraine many times, to conduct seminars and share the Gospel at colleges, universities, sporting bodies and the Ukrainian military (under military escort), as well as visit orphanages in the Chernobyl Radiation Zone (northwest of Kiev).

original building of HoHh-o-hThe House of Hope was the base from 2012 when it was a two -storey old farmhouse converted into an orphanage. Over a period of a few years, including the Covid-19 period, we were blessed and helped by our friends and donors, to convert it to a huge, beautiful building (with 2 bomb-proof basements) that would accommodate more than 200 children.

We continue our current practice of not publishing on the website either names or photographs that either identify people or locations, similarly towns, other than those regularly mentioned by the media, will not be named. The names of any Ukrainian nationals that are mentioned in this report have been changed for security/privacy purposes.

If you receive a direct copy of our newsletters, please do not republish any part to social media. Thank you for your understanding.

Dave shopping at EpenterThe area where the House of Hope is located, is taking a real pounding from Russian missiles day after day. There was a big “Epenters” Supermarket nearby that we used to shop at in the past for baby supplies and children’s clothes. Shopworkers would tease me and say, “How many wives do you have, to produce so many children that you are clothing at this time?” They would sing songs and clap their hands. I would tell them about the House of Hope and how many orphans we looked after. They knew that but loved to tease me and sing songs about it.

Moment of impactThat same shop was bombed a few days ago, killing many workers and shoppers. The House of Hope manager was driving passed when the bomb hit. They managed to take this photo before driving for cover.
A second bombing the next day wiped out the shopping complex completely, killing more workers who were cleaning up the mess. So sad.

The villages around the House are a mess and needy villagers come daily to the House for food, medicines, and water from the artesian well on the premisses. The Orphans and Single-mother Families in the House are so valiant. The teenagers often accompany our drivers to deliver food and medicine to the poor and needy in the Odesa province.

Join us in thanking and praising God for His continued protection of the House of Hope and the people within it and that He is with them.

Thank you for helping us so magnificently to provide for these House of Hope youngsters who are still wonderful evangelists, bringing many other young people to Jesus.

We’re in dire need of funds to meet the needs for medicines, food, firewood, fuel for the rescue vans.

Please help us to meet these needs and bring relief to these hurting people.

Thank you again for the encouragement you are to us, and many hundreds of needy people through us. We appreciate you immensely.

Yours in the Spirit of Rescue,

           Dave and Margurita
