the villageSasha and I were in Norway recently looking for accommodation for the House of Hope youngsters, in the event that they should have to move there. We have found out that not all the Village buildings have to be demolished. There is a possibility that they can relocate to other buildings in the village. We have also found out that they have an extension to April 2023 and then can be relocated to Norway if there is the need. Please pray that all will work out for them not to have to move.

ministry timeThe ministry to the refugees in Trondheim and Molde was very precious with many needy people from Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia seeking God for relief from their grief and stress. They and their children had seen and experienced atrocities that will never leave them. Only God in His mercy can pull the sting of the pain out of their memories – as two elderly ladies, whom we met, who had barely escaped with their lives.

Vital Ministry in Germany

childrens ministry
In Düsseldorf, we met up with the House of Hope children, who have grown in stature and impact on the community with their zeal for Jesus and passion to share the gospel like they did with the poor families in the Odesa villages. Remember that in the two years of Covid-19 in Ukraine they visited some 485 villages distributing Survival Packs of food, medicine, hygiene products, and Bibles. They helped to lead some 15,000 people including children to Jesus and were instrumental in starting about 250 “Home Fellowships” where families and friends got together to share food and talk about Jesus and what they had read in their Bibles.

Good News gloveWe gave them a “booster shot” to keep up their zeal for Jesus and share the Gospel with others. The Good News glove got them excited again about sharing Jesus with the German people and refugees from Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus who live with them in the village.

We were meeting refugee families here who are having to prove their qualifications in Germany and pay for the paperwork for the qualifications as well as pay for their living expenses and children’s school fees. There are no longer any more humanitarian handouts in Germany. We’ve decided to help as many as possible with this burden. We are also providing for the House of Hope Children’s school fees for upgraded lessons. Sasha took some of the House of Hope teenagers shopping for necessary winter clothing.

Over the last weekend. Sasha and I were ministering in four different Church and Fellowship meetings – in an Evangelical Free Church in Bonn, two Russian-speaking Fellowships in Cologne, and a Messianic Jewish Fellowship – all different cultures with different needs. We were counselling refugees with all sorts of needs. I started the ball rolling after my messages to them – “Overcoming worry and anxiety” and “Winning over Stress” which were very appropriate. They were stunned at the enormity of what we were doing to evacuate needy children and adults from Ukraine.

young ones with the Good News glovesAt the Evangelical Free Church in Bonn, the pastor asked me to share, “How to be a Persuasive Witness for Jesus”. I simply told them of how I’d learned to share Jesus with people from the man who led me to Jesus 60 years ago, and his son, Trevor, who’d helped me to come to the realization of how Jesus could change our lives. The Good News Glove was a great visual aid once again. So many of them came to the Lord over that weekend. It’s good to see them seeking God for direction for their future.

Pray for Ukraine

Exodus from Ukraine October - November 2022 in a freezing winter

A Civilian Convoy from Ukraine was hit by Russian shelling in Zaporizhzhia. This is a city on the Dnieper River in south-eastern Ukraine. devastationPeople were queuing in cars to leave the temporarily occupied territory in order to pick up their relatives and give them help. There were 23 dead and 28 wounded as a result of that attack. It appears like there was an attempt to prevent a mass evacuation from the provinces that have been unilaterally taken over.

I get a sense that we are on the verge of an unprecedented exodus of people from Ukraine as we have seen, but also from the surrounding nations of Belarus, Russia, and possibly very soon, from Moldova.

This influx of refugees could cause the EU to close its borders. In an attempt to pre-empt this, we are moving quickly to evacuate as many people and children as possible from Ukraine. The approaching winter is going to be a particularly brutal one, for these refugees that are potential "new" vehivlegoing to flock into areas with no place to stay. I anticipate that there will be large numbers of people squeezing over the borders into Finland, Norway, and Sweden. We have felt the need to buy 3 more smaller 10-seater people-mover vans to move these Refugees before Russia begins escalating this war.

We will still need to be able to move quickly with a low profile, to avoid ambush on both national and country roads. We’re trying to buy 3 more vans at this crucial time. Please stand with us in prayer on this crucial issue, because the two big 26-seater vans we currently have, are too conspicuous as targets and are unable to negotiate the small country roads in emergencies. We are taking the big vans to a safe place out of Ukraine, where the people will be transferred from our small vans into the bigger vans for the ongoing journey to Western Europe.

  • Please pray for this new safer strategy for evacuating many more children and poor village people
  • We are preparing for big evacuations from the Ukrainian War Zone and a Freezing Winter
  • Please pray for this extremely urgent need.

Just one day’s attacks left over one and a half million Ukrainians without electricity. The goal to freeze Ukraine this winter is slowly being reached. According to their reckoning, about 40% of Ukraine’s power stations have been destroyed. The upcoming winter could be the worst results of a missile strikein Ukraine’s history - Please pray against this!

The new Russian General that commands their operations, Sergei Surovikin, said a few days ago that this is the best way to win the war without sacrificing soldiers on the battlefield. Please pray that these plans are frustrated and fail. The Ukraine Military is saying that Russia is planning a large-scale disaster in the southern territory - this means Odesa and the southern province where the House of Hope is situated. This sounds ominously like chemical or nuclear weapons will be used. We need to get so many children and people evacuated very soon.

Please pray for all of this and the decisions we are having to make every day. Please continue to stand with us in support of these life-saving projects.

Love and blessings,

Psalms 46 (CJV)

(0) For the leader. By the descendants of Korach. On 'alamot [high-pitched musical instruments?]. A song:
(1) God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
(2) Therefore we are unafraid,
even if the earth gives way,
even if the mountains tumble
into the depths of the sea,
(3) even if its waters rage and foam,
and mountains shake at its turbulence. (Selah)
(4) There is a river whose streams
gladden the city of God,
the holy habitation of 'Elyon—
(5) God is in the city.
It will not be moved—
when daybreak comes, God will help it.
(6) Nations were in turmoil,
kingdoms were moved;
his voice thundered forth,
and the earth melted away.
(7) ADONAI-Tzva'ot is with us,
our fortress, the God of Ya'akov. (Selah)
(8) Come and see the works of ADONAI,
the astounding deeds he has done on the earth.
(9) To the ends of the earth he makes wars cease—
he breaks the bow, snaps the spear,
burns the shields in the fire.
(10) "Desist, and learn that I am God,
supreme over the nations,
supreme over the earth."
(11) ADONAI-Tzva'ot is with us,
our fortress, the God of Ya'akov. (Selah)
